Walk-Off with the Division

The Yankees clinched the Division Title with a walk-off HR in the 10th inning off the bat of Devan Ewell.

As the iron man of the team Adam Kearny went all 10 innings to earn the win, Gary Marean came off the bench to go 5 for 5 on the day.

The Yankees fell behind early do to sloppy play for a 2nd consecutive game, but they buckled up and scored three run in the 3rd taking advantage of a Blues blunder to take a 3-2 lead, both teams traded runs later, and the picked up one more run on one of Gary's hit to take a 5-3 lead into the 9th.  But once again the Yankee defense faltered, a couple errors later and the Blues had tied it up,  This time the Yanks didn't roll over, in the 9th the ynkas threatened with a Miller walk and Nargi single, Marean singled home Miller but a great defensive play by the Blues cut Miller down at the plate for bonus "cantos".    The Blues were set down in order in the 10th, with one out this set the Stage for Devan Ewell. Devan crushed one to left that had no doubt as it easily cleared the 15 foot high second fence by a good 20 feet, the Yanks held on and clinched the Division Title.

Prince William, VA--- July 23rd, 2010

Collapse of epic proportions

With a 6 -3 lead in the 8th inning, the Yankee defense fell apart and the bull pen was abysmal allowing the Blues to come back and tie this one, and se the stage of r their walk -off win in the 9th and denying the Yankees the Division Title.

Triage Unit wins

With key players out, some excused, some with no excuse, 3 Yankees playing hurt, the team came together & pulled one out against the Arlington Division front runners Washington Patriots winning 10-5. The score was not indicative of the game, the Pats led 5-3 in the 5th but the Yanks chipped away and Robbie Miller's 2 out bases clearing double helped put a 5 spot on the board in the 7th which was the difference.  Logan Springer Homered for the Yanks, his 7th of the season. Dan Eadie went the distance earning the win.

Heritage Field, VA--- June 5th, 2010

A Giant Killing

This was all Todd Musher today, Todd struck out 17 Giants over 8 inning of work as the Yanks prevail 9-4.  the Yankees played some small ball today moving runners along with bunts and hit and runs even a squeeze play to and kept the Giant defense guessing all day.

Prince William, VA--- June 4th, 2010

Touch em all the hard way

Jamien Payne broke the scoring drought with a 2 out 3 run inside the park Homerun to help the Yankees to a 5-3 win at the Stadium Friday Nite.  The D'Backs held the Yankees at bay stranding a small village on the bases until Jamien busted through.  Yankees had to go to the bullpen several times in this game to held deliver the victory, Gary Marean went 2 strong as did Kevin "Nemo" Soltice, and Logan Springer came on to get the last 3 in the 9th for the save.

Snakes Disposed of

Logan Springer went deep but Eddie Pearson went deeper!!!  Logan hit his team leading 6th HR with a laser beam to left, then Eddie Pearson followed up with a moon shot to left center off the back wall at the Stadium while driving in 5 runs Thursday Night.  The Yankees pounded out 18 hits in all as they broke the game open in with a 6 run 6th inning.  Gary Marean picked up his 3rd win of the season and Alex Torrez and Logan Springer shut down the Snakes the last 3 frames as the Yankees win this one going away 11-1.
Lorton, VA--- May 15, 2010

Ugly; but a Win.

Defensively the Yanks lapsed several times committing 3 errors that lead to 4 Black Sox runs, but clutch hitting including a 2 run 2 out single from 3b Tim Nargi, a 2 run HR from Devan Ewell and a solo shot from Logan Springer was just enough to hold off the Sox as the Yanks prevailed 8-5 at South County in this Saturday Evening tilt.

Stadium; Yanks sweep Double Header from Ermi's.

Game 1 the Yanks jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never looked back 10 running Ermis taking this one 14-2, the Yanks pounded out 18 hits in all and played flawless defense.

Game 2 was a completely different game, Yankee defense faltered committing 2 errors to allow Ermis to go up 4-1 early.  but the never die attitude the Yankees with some clutch hitting and productive outs pulled within 1 and later took advantage of Ermis errors to take the lead and hold on to a 5-4 win to complete the sweep.

Defensive Gem.

Yankees flashed the leather Friday Nite at the Stadium to secure win #2 on the young season over the Grand Slam Indians.  Todd Musher made his return to the mound fo his first start in 1 1/2 years, Todd looked like hi old self surrendering only 1 run over 4, Dan Eadie came on and promptly shut down the Indians with 1-2-3 inning the rest of the way striking out 7.

RF Fede Brooks was the Yanks catalyst on offense, laying down a perfect bunt single  that forced th e Indians to throw the ball away and the Yanks scored 2 to take the lead, Fed later scored on Tim Nargi Sac Fly to right for a Yanks 3-1 lead.  Yanks picked up another run in the 7th as 2b Frank Ingoglia singled to start the inning moved up on Fed 2nd hit on the night and later scored on a wild pitch. The Yanks tacked on one more in the 9th, 1b George Adam drew a walk, and pinch runner and speedster Jamien Payne came on and immediately stole 2nd, the Indian defense was pressured with Jamien on the bases and ended up surrendering the run on yet another wild pitch. But the night was really about defense, the Yanks turned in no less than 3 web Gems. First Fed Brooks made a diving catch  in right field to deny 2 Indian runs, SS Devan Ewell scooped up a shot up the middle to retire that batter, and the biggest play of the night came form 3b Logan Springer, Spring had to dive to his right ending up on his back side facing left field, without getting up turned his self toward first and fired a bullet still sitting to get the batter at first!!
